Fat Acceptance: BBW Admirers Prefer Plus Size Women

Thank goodness for guys like Dan Weiss. In the fat acceptance movement, it’s too often only plus size women and men involved.  Many non-plus size men who are BBW admirers keep it quiet, afraid to be teased by other guys who think all men should only be attracted to women who look like models. But Dan isn’t afraid.  First, he created a blog called ask a guy who likes fat chicks, which sadly hasn’t been updated in awhile. Then he agreed to be interviewed for an article in the Village Voice titled Guys Who Like Fat Chicks. And to be photographed with his girlfriend, who is a sexy representative of plus size women (that’s them in the picture!).

In his personal push for fat acceptance, Dan discusses his motive: “Society sucks, and society says you need male validation. If you’re trying to say fat is attractive, as a lot of women out there are, it helps to find legitimate people who find this attractive.” In order to help out his fellow BBW admirers, Dan also discusses the 5 Misconceptions associated with lovers of plus size women.

Misconception #1: Loving fat women is a fetish
Misconception #2: Fat Admirers pursue fat women because they are vulnerable prey
Misconception #3: Guys who are sexually attracted to fat chicks are sexually attracted to all fat chicks
Misconception #4: Sex with a 110-pound woman is preferable to celibacy
Misconception #4: It’s easy to pick up a fat chick
Misconception #5: You’ve got to be kidding, right?

In the fat acceptance movement, it’s great to have advocates like this who are proud to be BBW admirers. What do you think about these misconceptions? What has your experience with non-plus size men?
