About Curves asserts itself as a leader in the industry by providing images of real plus size women from the community wearing each of our items. We believe it's important for our customers to see what the lingerie looks like on big beautiful women. We are outraged by companies who sell plus size lingerie modeled on a woman who is a size 6 (or even a size 10). Unlike many online plus size lingerie companies, who simply use the images provided by the manufacturer (incidentally, images often featuring waif-like models wearing the lingerie), About Curves holds its own photo shoots, using models of different sizes and shapes, so that our customers can see how the lingerie will look on them. Many of these women are friends and family members who never dreamed of modeling; one of our models is a bank teller; another is a program director for a nonprofit; yet another is a stay-at-home mom. About Curves also provides a space for aspiring plus size models to gain experience and build their portfolios.
